Lauren E. Reinhard
Director, Audition Coach
Hailing from Allentown, Pennsylvania, Lauren began her career in the theatre in Junior High School studying voice and falling in love with the wonderful world of Musical Theatre. A graduate of Long Island University, Lauren spent her college years Acting and Directing; she was heavily trained in the Suzuki Method, thusly fostering her interest in movement based and Avant Garde theatre. While in college Lauren streamlined her theatrical goals into primarily directing, though she still quite enjoys working her Dramaturgical, Stage Management, and Acting muscles every now and again. Lauren has performed in several countries, including Scotland and Greece, and is now happy to have made her home in New York City since 2004.
Directing credits include: Rumors, Skid Marks, Spirit That Won’t Let Me Go, Four Dry Tongues, Acolyte, The Inferno Project, Afterglow, House of Yes, Trojan Women 2.0, The Changeling, The Paperback Musical, La Lecon de Musique, Damnee Manon Sacree Sandra, ‘night Mother, Journey Through the Self, and The Vagina Monologues. She has Assistant Directed such shows as: Really Big Once (David Herskowits, dir.), Peace (Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, dir.), Our Country’s Good (Jonathan Silverstein, dir.), An Enemy of the People (Tom Butler, dir.) and Unearthing Lilith. Stage Management credits include: TheatreRats’ Chester Horn Short Play Festival, Peace, Unearthing Lilith, Oh! Les Beaux Jour (Happy Days), and Little Shop of Horrors. She has been seen on stage in such productions as: 4.48 Psychosis, Crave, A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Bakkhai, Three Tall Women, and Our Town.
Lauren has written both short and full length plays, including RAPTURE: The Death Play, The Inferno Project and Letters and has more in various states of completion. Scripts of these works are available upon request.
Lauren has worked in casting for Horizon Theatre Repertory and is an Audition Coach in Manhattan. She maintains close ties with Milk Can Theatre Company and TheatreRats, and is a proud member of the Rapscallion Theatre Collective. Lauren is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, Inc. (SSDC). |
