Audition dates have been announced for Mississippi Mud's fall production of Orson's Shadow by Austin Pendleton, which will be directed by Lauren. Open call auditions will be held by appointment on Saturday, August 20th with call backs to follow on Monday, August 22nd. At 11.09 tonight Lauren gave birth to her and her wife's first child. Despite coming 2 1/2 weeks early, their little boy, River Lee, was born at a healthy 7lbs 12oz. Both mommies and their little guy are all healthy and blissfully happy. Lauren is looking forward to taking some time off so her new little family can get to know one another!

The Beginning: The 2011 First Year Showcase opens tonight and runs through the weekend at the Little Theatre on the Post campus at Long Island University. The showcase is presented by the Post Theatre Company and is directed by Lauren. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. |

Lauren's next show is Neil Simon's Rumors at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus.
This rollicking fast paced farce from Neil Simon takes us to the home of Charley and Myra Brock for a well intentioned dinner party celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, and we're all invited! The evening doesn't exactly turn out as planned, however...what will we find? Four affluent couples, no servants, no food, no hosts, lots of alcohol and two mysterious gunshots...oh the Rumors!
Performances are from Thursday through Sunday, November 19-22. Tickets are $5 for Fordham Students with ID and $10 for non-students, and can be purchased at the door.

The Really Big Once is a company-created piece under the direction of David Herskovits that will have several showings and residencies through out the season, culminating in a final fully staged production on spring of 2010. Lauren has recently completed her time at the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. It was an inspiring three weeks that proved to be an invaluable experience. She is now ready to begin work on the as yet untitled second play in the Sacrament Plays. Stay tuned for announcements on the next step of this ongoing journey.

A reading of Lauren's newest play, RAPTURE: The Death Play will be presented by Rapscallion Theatre Collective on Wednesday July 15th! This is a one night only event, so don't miss it! The reading will be held at The Player's Theatre Loft Space at 115 MacDougal Street in Manhattan at 7pm. Directly following the reading, Lauren will be appearing with the director, Christophe Anderson and the entire cast for a talk back with the audience. Seating is limited so please send all RSVPs to rapscalliontheatre@gmail.com, include your name, phone number and number of tickets you would like reserved, the reading is free, all you have to do is reserve!
RAPTURE: The Death Play is the first installment in a series of plays written surrounding the ideology of the Seven Holy Sacraments. The Sacrament Plays are seven plays in total, one play devoted to each of the Sacraments. The cannon as a whole take the Sacraments, the seven most important things a person does in their life, and boils them down to one single second: together the make the the seven most important seconds in one persons life. RAPTURE: The Death Play starts our journey at the ending point, exploring what a life comes down to at the very end, and ultimately what tears it apart. The Sacrament Plays will be developed over the course of the next five years, so check out each installment to see what we're up to and what moment we're disecting next, up first: death...dismembered.

Four Dry Tongues as presented as part of Rapscallion Theatre Collective's Third Annual Salute Ur Shorts Play Festival closed its successful run this afternoon. Four Dry Tongues took home "Favorite Script" and "Favorite Male Actor" as part of the Audience Awards. Congratulations to everyone who made the festivals such a success!

The Rapscallion Theatre Collective is looking for an Assistant Director for Lauren's The Inferno Project. Ideal applicants should have past experience with dramaturgy, should be movement trained (any movement training is fine, from dance to mime) and should be available for casting and rehearsals from January 20th to March 5th. Performance dates are March 6th to 16th. Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday evening, January 9th. Please be prepared with a director's portfolio or some materials from past shows.
